PHILADELPHIA, PA DEPUTY MAYOR FOR HEALTH & OPPORTUNITY

Philadelphia, PA Deputy Mayor for Health & Opportunity

TAC assisted Philadelphia's Deputy Mayor for Health and Opportunity to conduct a resource analysis and develop long-term strategic options for increasing and sustaining supportive housing in the context of meeting the Mayor's Goal to End Homelessness and Philadelphia's plan to utilize Medicaid Reinvestment funds for supportive housing. TAC worked closely with the Mayor's Office, the Office of Supportive Housing, and the Department of Behavioral Health to develop a clearinghouse to manage the City's supportive housing resources, and to use more than 200 Housing Choice Vouchers per year from the Philadelphia Public Housing Authority for supportive housing.

In a related project, TAC is currently providing consultation to City of Philadelphia's Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) to transform its residential services system to a recovery-based supportive housing focused system. This includes technical support on DBH's project-based operating subsidy initiative using Medicaid reinvestment funds. TAC also assisted DBH's housing and service provider network with the development/implementation of a supportive housing plan designed to convert congregate residential programs to supportive housing, improve community  service practices, increase peer supports, and establish clear housing and service access priorities targeting individuals most in need.
