PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES

Since 2019, TAC has been under contract to the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) to support the implementation of projects funded under Pennsylvania’s State Opioid Response (SOR) Grant awarded by the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The project aims to increase access to medication-assisted treatment, reduce unmet treatment needs, and reduce opioid overdose related deaths by providing prevention, treatment, and recovery activities for opioid use disorder (OUD), including access to housing and related supportive services as an evidence-based intervention. TAC supports the TA and training needs of 16 local DHS-funded grantees that provide innovative, evidence-based case management; housing education and services; and other supports for individuals with OUD. The projects address local service needs and gaps in access to comprehensive case management; housing services and education; and rental assistance. In addition, TAC and its partner the Human Services Research Institute have assisted with the development and implementation of systems for data collection, outcomes measurement, monitoring, and reporting as required by SAMHSA and DHS.
