MASSACHUSETTS PROVIDER TRAINING AND SERVICE QUALITY REVIEWS

Massachusetts Provider Training and Service Quality Reviews

On behalf of the Massachusetts Medicaid agency and Executive Office of Health and Human Services, TAC provides trainings and consultation, creates products, and develops workforce initiatives. TAC manages a network of coaches who help community mental health agencies maintain fidelity to an intensive, individualized care management process for youth with complex needs. TAC also manages the Massachusetts Practice Review, a comprehensive case review process to determine the extent to which services are: family-driven and youth-guided; community-based; and culturally competent.

Other initiatives include provider training on the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) trauma intervention framework; training and consultation for a learning community focused on in-home therapy; and strategic planning to diversify the children's behavioral health workforce.

In the fall of 2015, the Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) Knowledge Center, in collaboration with MassHealth, developed a “practice profile” for providers of in-home therapy to children and youth receiving publicly funded behavioral health services. After drafting the the new resource, CBHI engaged TAC to help produce the final version. Publicly available, the In-Home Therapy Practice Profile offers easy-to-use guidance for providers.
