DISASTER PREPAREDNESS & RECOVERY TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN CALIFORNIA
TAC is helping the state of California to roll out a disaster toolkit for Continuums of Care that includes an emergency preparedness plan for emergency shelters, a continuity of operations plan, and a monitoring toolkit that addresses all federal and state funding - allowing for one comprehensive monitoring review. In addition, TAC is under contract with the California Department of Housing and Community Development to help communities strengthen their homeless systems’ disaster preparedness and response capacity. In Butte County, for instance, TAC helped the CoC prioritize funding based on post-disaster needs after the devastating Camp Fire. In San Francisco, TAC is helping to develop both an emergency preparedness plan and a continuity of operations plan, to ensure that operations continue for people experiencing homelessness during and after a disaster.
