Boston, MA Department of Neighborhood Development
For over a decade, TAC has assisted the City of Boston Department of Neighborhood Development (DND) with homeless system strategic planning, including expanding permanent supportive housing opportunities. This TAC project included development of a comprehensive long-term strategic plan, and assistance with the implementation of strategies to expand the supply of permanent supportive housing for homeless individuals and families. TAC also assisted DND with the development of its annual application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for $21 million in homeless assistance funding.
TAC also worked with City of Boston officials - including the Mayor's office - on the implementation of HUD's new Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing (HPRP) Program. This project included: advising City officials on HPRP goals and objectives; facilitating community stakeholder input via an online survey; utilizing the survey results to formulate recommendations for Boston's HPRP program design; and development of the City's HPRP Request for Proposals.
