VA Releases FY 2013 SSVF Report

Friday, June 20, 2014

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has released the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) FY 2013 Annual Report. This report covers the second grant period for the SSVF program and includes information about outcomes resulting from the FY 2012 for the FY 2013 periods.

The report demonstrates the significant impact SSVF has had toward preventing and ending homelessness among Veterans nationwide. During a two year period, almost 100,000 Veterans and their family members (97,979 people in total) received direct assistance from SSVF, and 86 percent of those individuals exited to permanent housing. The report covers the activities of 151 SSVF grantees; that number increased to 319 grantees in the current fiscal year (October 2013-September 2014).

TAC is the primary technical assistance (TA) provider for the SSVF program. TAC, along with our partner Abt Associates, provides TA, resource development, and community coordination in an effort to continue to improve the SSVF program's implementation practices and outcomes nationwide.
