SAMSHA Releases Online Resource “Getting Ready for the Health Insurance Marketplace”

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recently released an online toolkit to assist behavioral health organizations prepare for open enrollment. This toolkit, entitled "Getting Ready for the Health Insurance Marketplace", focuses on the health care law and why it is important for uninsured individuals with behavioral health conditions.

The interactive toolkit is a 30-minute slide presentation that clearly explains the health care law, how to use the Insurance Marketplace, how to apply for health insurance, and where to get help. The toolkit has been specifically formatted to meet the needs of different types of service providers:

The toolkit also provides articles, brochures, posters, cards, flyers, and electronic media for distribution to increase awareness and assist in enrollment efforts. As an interactive presentation, users are able to choose topics and resources using narrated slide presentations as well as printable resources and videos for distribution.
