SAMHSA Announces Planning Grants for Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics
The U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recently announced the opportunity for states to apply for one-year planning grants for the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) demonstration. The demonstration involves a two-year pilot project under which 8 states will use a prospective payment system (PPS) for CCBHCs. The grant funding available to states under this opportunity is intended to support states in certifying clinics as CCBHCs, establishing a PPS, and preparing an application for the two-year demonstration. State Behavioral Health Authorities and State Medicaid Directors have until August 5, 2015, to apply for the 1-year planning grants. Up to $2 million will be available per state for the planning grants.
