SAMHSA Awards Integration Grants

Friday, November 02, 2012

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has awarded 30 new Primary and Behavioral Health Care Integration (PBHCI) program grants. Now, 93 organizations work within the PBHCI program and receive intensive support from the Center for Integrated Health Solutions (CIHS) to improve the whole health of people with behavioral health issues.

CIHS is funded jointly by SAMHSA and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to promote the development of integrated primary and behavioral health services to better address the needs of individuals with mental health and substance use conditions, whether seen in specialty behavioral health or primary care provider settings. CIHS is the first 'national home' of integration resources and expertise, and serves as a reliable portal by:

  • Supporting behavioral health and primary care organizations funded by HRSA and SAMHSA.
  • Showcasing community organizations' innovations nationwide.
  • Curating information from integration leaders and communities.
