New HUD-VASH Vouchers Announced

Monday, June 06, 2016

The U.S. Departments of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Veterans Affairs (VA) have announced the award of  almost $38 million in housing vouchers to help communities find permanent, supportive housing for veterans experiencing homelessness. The money will expand the HUD-VA Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program, which combines rental assistance from HUD with case management and clinical services provided by the VA. “HUD-VASH works in reducing veteran homelessness because it provides funding for both the housing and supportive services that are essential for ending homelessness for tens of thousands of veterans nationwide,” the announcement explains.
