Thursday, May 05, 2016

United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Juliàn Castro has announced $174 million for the first National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF) allocations, divided among all U.S. states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories. The NHTF is the first new federal funding in a generation intended to expand the supply of affordable rental homes for extremely low income (ELI) households. The NHTF will ensure efforts to produce, preserve, and rehabilitate the supply of affordable housing for extremely low-income households, including those experiencing homelessness.
