HHS Launches New MentalHealth.gov Website
On June 6, 2013, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the launching of a new resource site, mentalhealth.gov. This website offers information on mental health including information on mental health disorders and how to seek help. MentalHealth.gov also addresses common myths about mental health and offers tools and resources to help start a community dialog to meet the needs of people with mental health disorders.
In conjunction with launching this new website, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) will be releasing Toolkit for Community Conversations About Mental Health to provide guidance to communities trying to improve to the quality of services and recovery to people suffering from mental health problems. An informational bulletin on the new tool kit is available for download on http://www.samhsa.gov/.
