Funding Opportunity for Ending Youth Homelessness
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has announced that it will award funding to ten Youth Homelessness Demonstration Programs, with the goal of learning “how communities can successfully approach the goal of preventing and ending youth homelessness by building comprehensive systems of care for young people rather than implementing individual or unconnected projects that serve this population.” Four of the ten communities selected for funding will be rural. The application deadline is November 30, 2016.
In association with this Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA), HUD has released a series of guidebooks designed for Continuum of Care leadership and other stakeholders to use as a direct, hands-on action plan in efforts to prevent and end homelessness among transition-age youth. TAC was among the contributors to this resource.
