DOJ Releases Revised Requirements of ADA

The Disability Rights Section of the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) recently released two documents to assist title II and title III entities in understanding the 2010 Standards for Accessible Design (2010 Standards). The 2010 Standards were written to clarify issues that have arisen since the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) was passed 20 years ago.

The DOJ released two documents; the first is designed to assist state and local governments as well as businesses and non-profit organizations understand implementation of the new rules for mobility devices. The second document aims to provide state and local governments, businesses, and non-profit organizations with guidance on providing adequate communication strategies for people with disabilities.
