On January 29, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a draft of the single streamlined application that individuals can use to purchase private insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace (sometimes referred to as an Exchange) and assess eligibility for Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the Advanced Payment of Tax Credits. This application will serve as a model for the application that states can use for their state operated Health Insurance Exchanges. A draft of the paper application and videos showing how the online application works for an individual applicant and a family of three are available for review and comment through February 28^th.
