CMS & HRSA to Coordinate HIV/AIDS Services
On May 1, 2013, the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) released a joint announcement regarding the coordination of Medicaid and Ryan White HIV/AIDS programs. The Affordable Care Act and Medicaid expansion present opportunities to increase access to health care for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH) and to increase the quality of care PLWH receive. To maximize these opportunities CMS and HRSA will be producing a series of webinars in coming months on topics that impact PLWH, including:
- Eligibility and enrollment
- Essential community providers
- Best practices in managed care
- Integrated care models in context of HIV/AIDS
