CMS Seeks Public Comments on Business Indicators for Medicaid & CHIP Programs
On January 24, 2013, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced it is seeking input to develop an initial set of performance indicators for Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and new Health Care 'Exchanges' developed through the Affordable Care Act (ACA). CMS is specifically looking to develop a set of indicators that identify individual experience with enrollment, and provider experience in executing claims and payments. Ultimately CMS will use performance indicators to evaluate the quality of care available through Medicaid, CHIP and newly formed Health Care 'Exchanges'.
