ASPE Releases Reports on Residential Care Facilities

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

Recently, the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) released two reports which examine data compiled during the National Survey of Residential Care Facilities. The National Survey of Residential Care Facilities was conducted in 2010 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) to estimate the characteristics of these facilities and its residents throughout the nation.

The first report, Do Services and Staffing in Residential Care Facilities Vary with Residential Needs? explores the relationship between the health and functional status of residents, the utilization of available services, and facility staffing levels.

The second report, Medicaid in Residential Care, aims to determine the differences between facilities that serve Medicaid recipients and those that do not, and how residents who receive Medicaid services differ from those who do not.
