TAC Associate Director Ann O’Hara Selected to Receive Annual CCD Chairperson’s Award
TAC is proud to announce that its Associate Director Ann O'Hara has been selected to be a recipient of the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) Chairperson's Award for 2012. CCD is a coalition of approximately 100 national disability organizations working together to advocate for national public policy that ensures the self determination, independence, empowerment, integration and inclusion of children and adults with disabilities in all aspects of society. Ms. O'Hara will be honored during the Annual CCD Meeting which will take place on January 9, 2013 in Washington, DC.
In her letter to Ms. O'Hara, Donna Meltzer, Chair of CCD, wrote:
"Since 1994 you and the Technical Assistance Collaborative have been instrumental in supporting our efforts to expand access to decent, safe and affordable housing for people with disabilities. Over the last 18 years of this partnership we have been able to affect a great deal of change in the availability of housing options for people with disabilities and have fought against countless threats to housing budget cuts. Most importantly, with your assistance, CCD has been able to raise the awareness level of housing issue to Members of Congress, Hill staff, federal agency personnel and our own members."
