The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) launched a series of resource pages today on its HUD Exchange for the Section 811 Project Rental Assistance (PRA) Program. The resource pages include the latest news and resources, tools and FAQs, technical assistance information, and grantees and award information for the Section 811 PRA Program.

The Section 811 PRA Program, which was authorized by the Frank Melville Supportive Housing Investment Act of 2010, seeks to stimulate and support successful and innovative state approaches to providing integrated permanent supportive housing (PSH) for people with disabilities. The PRA program awards rental assistance funds to state housing agencies that have partnered with state Medicaid and health and human services agencies to provide integrated affordable housing for extremely low-income people with disabilities who require long-term services and supports in the community.

In February 2013, HUD awarded $98 million in Section 811 PRA grant awards to 13 states to create 3,530 new integrated PSH units. HUD is expected to announce another $120 million for 12 to 18 new awards this winter in response to a NOFA published in March 2014. To date, forty-two states and the District of Columbia have applied for Section 811 PRA program funding.

TAC is HUD's primary technical assistance provider assisting to strengthen the management, operation, and capacity of PRA grantees and their partners to implement the Section 811 PRA Program.
