The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has a issued a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for $100 million in new “Mainstream” housing vouchers for non-elderly persons with disabilities. View the Office of Housing Choice Vouchers page to access the NOFA, FAQs, and other materials. Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) are eligible to submit applications, due on June 20, 2018 (this is a new, extended deadline announced by HUD on June 15, due to maintenance being performed on the Grants.gov proposal submission platform). While not a requirement, HUD is providing points in this competitive process for applications that include partnerships between housing and services agencies, especially those that target housing assistance to people with disabilities who are transitioning out of institutions or other segregated settings, at risk of institutionalization, homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless.
Together with our partners, TAC has created a series of webinars to help communities position themselves to apply for funding through the new NOFA. We hope these presentations, featuring leading experts from TAC, the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials, the National Alliance to End Homelessness, and the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities will help your community forge effective partnerships and put in a strong application for new mainstream voucher funding.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
TAC is providing this information as a service to the community in order to support the development of partnerships to support Mainstream Voucher programs. We are not representatives of HUD, and HUD has not endorsed or reviewed these materials.
These materials are in no way a substitute for a careful review of the NOFA itself and related FAQs, all of which can be found at https://www.hud.gov/program_offices/public_indian_housing/programs/hcv.
