VA Releases SSVF Renewal NOFA

Tuesday, February 03, 2015

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has published a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) which provides approximately $300 million for existing Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program grantees seeking to renew their grants. The SSVF Program's purpose is to provide supportive services grants to private nonprofit organizations and consumer cooperatives who  coordinate or provide supportive services to very low-income veteran families who:

  • Are residing in permanent housing;
  • Are homeless and scheduled to become residents of permanent housing within a specified time period; or
  • After exiting permanent housing within a specified time period, are seeking other housing that is responsive to such very low-income veteran family's needs and preferences.

Eligible applicants must be current SSVF grantees seeking funding for FY 2016. Grants previously awarded through “surge” funding (3-year non-renewable grants) are not eligible for renewal.

Applications are due to the SSVF program office no later than 4:00 PM ET, March 17, 2015.

TAC, along with our partner Abt Associates, provides technical assistance (TA), resource development, community coordination and direct training in an effort to continue to improve the SSVF program's implementation practices and outcomes nationwide.
