TAC’s Kevin Martone Testified before the Congressional Commission on Long Term Care

TAC Executive Director, Kevin Martone, testified before the Commission on Long Term Care on the mental health system on July 17, 2013.  The commission was created in January as part of the measure that repealed the Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) Act and is charged with developing plans for a comprehensive, coordinated and high-quality system ensuring long-term care for older adults and people with disabilities.  The 15-member commission is made up of nine Democrats and six Republicans appointed by the President of the United States (3); the majority leader of the Senate (3); the minority leader of the Senate (3); the Speaker of the House of Representatives (3); and the minority leader of the House of Representatives (3). The commission is required to produce a plan and recommended legislative or administrative actions, including actual legislative language, by September 30, 2013.
