TAC to Present on State-funded Housing Assistance Programs to Promote Community Integration

Monday, March 17, 2014

Access to affordable housing is critical to state community integration efforts. Although some federal housing assistance is available, many states also rely on state-funded programs to facilitate access to permanent housing. In support of SAMHSA's Olmstead Policy Academies, TAC has been working in collaboration with the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) to conduct a review of various state-funded housing assistance programs across the country that can be used to support community integration efforts for people with behavioral health disorders. As part of SAMHSA's Olmstead Virtual Learning Network Webinars, TAC Executive Director Kevin Martone and Senior Associate Emily Cooper will present an overview of the findings from this review which will be summarized in a forthcoming report.

The webinar, which will take place on March 28, 2014 from 1-2 p.m. E.T., will also discuss common challenges and effective implementation strategies for states considering the development or modification of state-funded housing assistance programs. Other presenters will include Brendan McTaggert, Housing Program Manager at the HUD Office of Multifamily Housing Programs and Elina Bravve, Research Analyst at NLIHC.
