Federal Funding for the Employment of People with Disabilities

On September 11, 2014, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced $8.4 million in continued funding to 8 agencies that provide supportive services to job seekers with disabilities. U.S. Secretary of Labor, Thomas E. Perez, noted the distinct importance of attaining self-sufficiency through employment for individuals with disabilities, and the fact that this diverse population comprises a workforce with skills that employers require.
